Welcome to the Totally Tots Jr Toddler Room!
We are so grateful to share this journey with your precious little one! We know how hard it can be leaving them for the first time and hope to ease that process any way we can!
At such a fun and rewarding age you will see us focusing on many different skills and development. We work on fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social/emotional skills, and cognitive skills. We encourage sign language along with verbal communication to help young infants communicate their wants or needs!
Each infant's needs are different and that is why we cater to each infant's individual schedule. We encourage open communication with parents to ensure everyone is working collaboratively to achieve the same goals and milestones. Transparency is crucial to the success of infant’s starting in childcare and their growth!
Beyond meeting your child's basic needs, we provide intentional interactions throughout the day to enhance their development. We do have a monthly newsletter and calendar filled out with different activities weekly including a book and song for the week. Each activity is planned with the intention of encouraging developmentally appropriate skills.
Brightwheel is our primary communication tool used to keep parents in the loop on their child's day. In the Infant Room we update Brightwheel a minimum of two times a day. We strive to upload at least one picture daily. Brightwheel will have information on when your child ate and how much, when they slept and woke up and all of their diapers, including if they have had diaper cream or any unusual behaviors. We will always message parents on Brightwheel first if we have any minor concerns or general updates, but will call with any major concerns or problems!
Here at Totally Tots safe sleep is a top priority! Infants may not be swaddled at childcare and must have their arms free if using a sleep sack. All infants are placed on their back to sleep. If an infant falls asleep any place other than their crib they will be transferred immediately to their crib. All sleeping infants are observed at least every ten minutes!
